Dolby has appointed Beth Harris to the post of Dolby Theatre marketing director. Harris will be responsible for the management and activation of Dolby’s sponsorship of the venue, playing a pivotal role in setting strategy and implementing programs designed to leverage it. Her previous experience includes the posts of vice president of marketing in the digital entertainment division at BBC Worldwide and digital marketing strategist for producer Laura Ziskin at Sony. She was also exec director of marketing at ABC Television from 2006-2009. Prior to ABC, she was the first marketing director hired by AMPAS to focus year-round on marketing of the Academy Awards. In 2001, Harris produced the grand opening for The Academy Awards Theatre and the Hollywood & Highland complex. At Dolby, she will work closely with AMPAS to activate Dolby Theater marketing around the Oscars. In May, Dolby took over sponsorship of the theater in a 20-year deal.
