Now that “House” is over after 8 seasons and his jazz album’s all toured, Hugh Laurie is turning to the big screen big time. He’s in negotiations to play the villain in “Robocop.” MGM and Sony’s remake of the 1987 sci-fi actioner will be directed by Jose Padilha with Joel Kinnaman starring.

Gary Oldman and Samuel L Jackson are also onboard. Laurie will play the evil, super-rich CEO of Omnicorp, the company that makes Robocop.

Laurie’s done plenty of other big screen work, but this is will be the most high profile feature role he’s tackled.
