Aaron Sorkin’s HBO drama “The Newsroom” is revamping its writing staff. Although a report in The Daily said Sorkin had fired most of the writers except his ex-girlfriend, a source tells Entertainment Weekly that the body count isn’t that high. HBO said about half the staff was being replaced.

“Every year each show reassesses the needs of its writing staffs,” HBO said in a statement. “This process is nothing out of the ordinary.”
